Central Vacuum Systems in homes are a lot more beneficial than most people realize. They are less cumbersome, more powerful, have better filtration, and are less noisy than standard portable vacuums.
The main part of a central vacuum is the motor/canister, which is usually located in the garage or basement. The main unit then has piping attached to it that travels throughout the house via walls, ceiling, and floors. They, then terminate at outlets precisely located throughout the house. A Hose is then attached to the outlet to provide a light weight vacuum cleaner. There are several attachments that can be used with the hose; the most popular being the power head. Notice that the heavy cumbersome motor stays in the garage and not carried around with the hose.
The motor in a central vacuum cleaner is stationary; this allows the manufacturer to use a bigger horse power motor, increasing the suction anywhere from 3-5 times greater than a smaller portable unit. This means more cleaning power and better looking carpets.
A central vacuum system removes more dust than a portable vacuum, since the canister is located in the basement/garage, all the dust and dirt travels to the main unit and does not flow about the area being vacuumed as it does with a portable vacuum cleaner. This also makes a huge difference at keeping allergens at low levels in the home.
While you are cleaning with your central vacuum cleaner; you will be able to listen to music, talk on the phone, and hear the doorbell. The reason why the motor is is located in an n area of the house usually unoccupied. All you can hear is the soft whoosh of the airflow.
Finally, central vacuum systems are a wise choice and investment in your home. Not only will it keep your house cleaner, it may also reduce visits to your doctor.
