Intercom Systems are a nice feature in larger size homes. They offer doorbell, monitor, and music distribution. The doorbell feature, when activated from the entry door annunciates to every station in the home and allows 2-way conversation with the visitor without going to the door. The monitor feature allows the opposite of an intercom. You can monitor any room in the house from any station. This is beneficial if you have infants or small children. Music distribution is available on most intercom systems. They have am/fm tuners and options for cod players. This allows you to listen to music throughout the home. This feature is over ridden when the doorbell or someone utilizing the intercom is utilized. There are also systems that are strictly intercoms , we use these in commercial applications such as doctors offices.
